January can feel a bit ‘meh’. The excitement of Christmas is over, we’re all a bit skint and summer still feels a million miles away.
And with the New Year comes New Year’s resolutions. You promise yourself throughout December that you’ll eat cleaner, to exercise more and drink more water. The hardest thing though, is sticking to your resolution. Of making it more of a lifestyle change than a quick fad, trying to ignore the craving to inhale a family-sized bar of Dairy Milk.
It can all feel a bit depressing!
So why not blow away the January blues with a change of hair colour?
Get your bounce back with Naturtint’s Reflex Semi-Permanent shades. And as they only last up to 10 washes, they’re less of a commitment than your New Year’s resolution!
And to make it even easier, our amazing onsite hairdresser, Kerry, has answered some of your FAQs.
There are six semi-permanent shades – black, mahogany, dark chestnut brown, hazelnut blonde, light chestnut brown and golden blonde.
How do I apply Naturtint’s Reflex Semi-Permanent hair dye?
First of all, it is imperative that you do a skin test 48 hours before dying your hair, even though it is a semi-permanent. In fact, you should do a skin test EVERY time you colour your hair. You can develop allergies at any time, so this is a must.
We suggest that you do a strand test prior to application to check that you are happy with the colour.
- Shampoo your hair to remove any styling products, oils and leave-in conditioners. Don’t use a conditioner as it can act as a barrier between your hair and the dye. Towel dry your hair.
- While it’s still damp, coat your hair from the root to the tips with the colour. Leave on for a maximum of 45 minutes.
- After the required time, shampoo and condition your hair with the sachets provided in the box. Naturtint’s Colour Fixing Shampoo is specifically designed to return the PH of your hair and Naturtint’s Protecting Conditioner will close the hair’s cuticles and help to lock in the colour.
What’s the difference between a semi-permanent and a permanent hair colour?
Naturtint’s Reflex Semi-Permanent Hair Colour will last up to 10 washes. A semi-permanent dye is gentler as it only coats the hair, instead of penetrating the cuticle (as a permanent shade would).
Naturtint’s permanent hair colours, although they contain less chemicals, still have PPD and hydrogen peroxide, whereas Reflex does not. To permanently colour the hair, these chemicals are needed to penetrate the hair cuticle, remove the natural pigment of the hair and deposit the new colour pigment.
Reflex is free from PPD, PTD, peroxide, ammonia, resorcinol, parabens, DEA, SLS, SLES, mineral oils and paraffin.
Reflex cannot lighten hair, it can only darken it. With Naturtint’s permanent shades, you can lighten your hair up to two shades.
Can I use Reflex if I have previously bleached my hair?
Yes, but a strand test is strongly recommended to make sure that you are happy with the colour. Also make sure that your hair is in a good, strong condition prior to colouring.
Can I use Reflex if I have used henna?
No. The henna needs to be fully removed from the hair.
So why Reflex?
Reflex only uses the highest quality, purest ingredients. Our formulations contain very high levels of natural ingredients, including organic plant and seed oils and extracts, each one carefully chosen for their proven hair and scalp enhancing benefits.
And at £10.99 a box, you won’t break your post-Christmas budget!
