Curly hair, because of its unique structure, needs different care to straight hair – it is more porous because the cuticles don’t lie as flat, which not only means it is more susceptible to frizz, but it is also weaker, more fragile and prone to dehydration.
And because it takes longer for the natural oils from the scalp to reach the ends of the hair, it can lack shine and feel dry to the touch.
So, what’s a curly girl to do? Enter the Naturtint Curly range – a vegan-friendly, dermatologically-tested range specifically developed for the unique needs of curly hair and complementary to the Curly Girl method.

A ‘low-poo*’ shampoo specifically formulated to cleanse and care for curly hair, whilst also gently refreshing the scalp. Nourishing and moisturising, for more defined, softer and shinier curls, Naturtint’s Curl Definer Shampoo blends the proactive treatment with the following natural ingredients;
🌿 Hydrolysed Wheat Protein – penetrates deep into the hair fibre to repair and protect from within, reducing breakage by more than 80% and thickening the hair. Hair feels soft and looks healthy.
🌿 Coconut & Corn Oil Surfactants – provide natural lather, to gently cleanse the hair whilst also moisturising and conditioning, for a silky feel.
🌿 Natural Biolipids – obtained from coconut, sunflower and corn, these natural biolipids restore the scalp’s protective lipid layer.
🌿 Meadowfoam Seed Oil – organic oil that restores hair’s elasticity and keeps it moisturised and full of shine. Soft, youthful and healthy-looking hair.

Apply a small amount to wet hair. Gently massage with your fingers, making circular movements to create a lather. Rinse well. Follow with your preferred Naturtint Curly conditioning product (see graphic below for guidance).
Try to avoid getting any Curl Definer Shampoo in your eyes, but if you do, rinse thoroughly with clean water and seek medical attention if irritation occurs.
